Join us as we work together to control Japanese knotweed, a highly invasive plant that threatens the garden’s collections and native biodiversity. Although complete eradication is no longer practical, managing its spread and keeping it away from the garden’s main areas will help protect the surrounding habitat.

During this session, we will use the targeted “cut-and-paint” method. Each stalk will be cut close to the ground, and a designated applicator will immediately apply a small amount of herbicide directly to the cut stem.

Volunteers should wear long pants, a long-sleeved shirt, sturdy closed-toe shoes, and work gloves. If you have hand pruners, please bring them. We appreciate your help with this important stewardship project!
